It is with regret that I must inform you on February 12th at approximately 10:30 am local 1-85 member Frank Sinclair, a faller working for Western Forest Products Gold River Forest Operations died from injuries sustained from being struck by a portion of a falling tree. Frank was falling right-of-way timber with a partner and had been working for approximately two hours that morning. The fallers came within one tree length of each other and Frank was struck by a portion of a tree being felled. Frank was 50 years old with over 20 years of falling experience. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Frank is survived by his wife, two children and five grandchildren. Our condolences go out to Frank’s family, friends, co-workers and the community of Gold River BC.
